I can understand the disappointment that Niko isn't touring with the New Pornographers but from what I have heard, Niko couldn't/wouldn’t join them on tour. This is why Kathryn was asked to fill in. If you check out Immaculate Machine's website, you will notice that Kathryn is not in fact Carl's "long lost teenage niece" but actually his long lost 23 year old niece. It would appear that this entire teenage thing is nothing more than a cheeky Carl Newman publicity stunt. Clever person that Carl. It really has gotten everyone talking. Kathryn plays in her own really great band, Mint Record's Immaculate Machine.

yep. they had this hold skit on stage about how she missed the prom to tour with them. neko's off recording her new album as i've found out. we'll see tomorrow how well the big crowds react to kathryn tomorrow.
