when conor oberst talks to god.... (part deux)

The Faint - May 25th, 2005 - Webster Hall
The band of the night was definitely the Faint, Bright Eyes' second opening band. After the rap group trio Mars Black came on stage and scared all the white kids away, the Faint just brought them all bouncing back with high energy and hypnotic 80s videos.

I liked them and yet, I was embarassed to like them. The crowd was definitely all over the place when they came on. I wager, I elbowed at least a half-dozen teeny boppers who tried to jump closer. My favorite song was entitled Paranoia where the band created a music video of snippets of Fox News broadcasts.

The Faint during Paranoia
Absolutely hilarious. It was worth staying up just to see them in concert.

yeah respect definitely goes out to the faint. what a great performance.
i was disappointed by the selection of songs oberst and crew played - the lighting from webster hall didn't help his atmosphere at all. (neither did the throng of people swarming towards the stage. he's so dreamy...)
